India to buy long-range drones from US

 India has struck a deal with the US for the purchase of 22 MQ-9 Guardian surveillance drones for an estimated cost of $2 billion. PM Modi, who visited the US in June, had expressed interest in the Guardian drones for use over the Indian Ocean in reconnaissance mode. India has zbeen concerned over China's growing influence in the ocean. Made by General Atomics, the drone has a range of 1800km.
