Irreversible Damage reveals a useful lie.

I got a fair amount of shit for reading Irreversible Damage by Abigail Shrier. Note that, to this day, I have said nothing positive nor negative about the book. I only got the crap from people for daring to read it.

That said, the backlash is telling. I mean, even the ACLU came out calling for the book to be banned.

It's become clear that the book is so polarizing because it reveals a useful lie.

It's odd that the illiberal Left lives to fancy itself as the supporters of science; but, when it comes to hormone therapy and puberty blockers for children with gender dysphoria; they become aggressively opposed to the science.

We know that habits can eventually cause - wait for it - irreversible damage if you engage in the habits for a long enough time to a certain extent.

There's no doubt that I've caused some irreversible damage and shortened my life due to my drinking problems.

We know that consuming too much sugar for too long can eventually make you diabetic for life.

These aren't controversial observations.

Yet it's somehow transphobic to point out that putting kids on hormones and puberty blockers can permanently alter their bone density, their voices, and possibly permanently sterilize them even though we know for a fact that it's true.
