Secrets of Organ Playing Contest Week 138 Submission--Lied from Twenty-four Pieces in Free Style by Louis Vierne

A bit of a digression this week. In looking for a prelude for this coming Sunday, I came across Louis Vierne's Lied just in passing....and fell in love. While the initial tune and it's treatment are wonderful, it is the slipperiness of Vierne's tonal language that intrigues me. How can someone end a section in A major and begin the next one in A-flat major? It just happens. And this juxtaposition of keys happens everywhere in the piece. I hope you enjoy.
