May 12, 2021--Grand Choeur Op. 68 No. 2 by Theodore Salome

A quick and fun piece today on the organ at the Cathedral of the Epiphany in Sioux City. I have not played any works by Theodore Salome before, and I wonder why not. It is a wonderful postlude, full of spirit and drive. I really love the quick modulation from G major to B-flat major around :20. And the trill that leads into the final chord is a lot of fun. I used a fairly large registration for this:
Great--Principal 8', 4', 2', Trumpet 8', Flutes 8', 4'
Swell--Principal 8', 4', Superoctave 2', Dulzian 16', Oboe 8', Flutes 8', 4'
Pedals--Subbass 16', Principal 8', 4', Trombone 16', Trumpet 8'
Manuals coupled to pedals
Swell coupled to Great
