Charles Darwin is often credited with coining the phrase - "The survival of the fittest".
This is not true
The first person to use the phrase was Herbert Spencer, an engineer, philosopher and psychologist. They actually knew each other and Spencer came up with this expression in his work Principles of Biology, after reading Charles Darwin's On the Origin of Species.
