Useless information #13 – The most expensive materials in the world

Once again rankings may differ. Some contain synthetic drugs (heroine, cocaine, lsd) and precious metals which price oscillates (gold, platinum, etc.), others have food (beluga caviar, etc.) and for that reason I show only the top 5 in three lists.

5 Most Expensive Materials in the World

4.Tritium – $30,000 per gram
3.Diamond – $55,000 per gram
2.Californium – $25 – $27 million per gram
1.Antimatter – $62.5 trillion per gram

Business Insider
5.Tritium – $30,000 per gram
4.Diamond – $65,000 per gram
3.Painite - $300,000 per gram
2.Californium – $25 – $27 million per gram
1.Antimatter – $100 trillion per gram

The Telegraph
5.Tritium - £20,748
4.Diamond - £45000 per gram
3.Stamp (Not exactly what I was looking to include in the most expensive materials) – A British Guiana post stamp was sold for £5,6 million per gram.
2.Californium – £18.7 per gram
1.Antimatter - £17bn per gram

Conclusion: The undisputed winner is Antimatter and Californium wins the second place every time.
