Our first anchorage

Well this morning was the first waking up in anchorage on Makina. Maybe all the marina living has spoiled me but the courage could not be mustered to join Pierre for a morning splash.

He set off on a covert mission to wake the other two pirates in our convoy.

We managed to get everyone moving and under sail by about 9:30.

We had a moderate winds and may have averaged us a speed of 3.5-5 knot.

In early afternoon my lawyer called concerning a sale of a property of mine in Halifax. It seemed to be going off the rails over a two year $1 lease which the buying corproration had offered me to sweeten their offer.

They now seemed in the process of taking some of the sweetness out of it.

My lawyer was left with instructions to tell them to stuff their two year $1 lease but add the value of the present agreed upon price. Otherwise get off my f***ing lawn! 😎

As evening approached we were short of our planned destination of the beginning of the locks at Iroquois. It may have been over optimistic.

Instead we found anchor about 40kms from the lock. Pieere took another evening dip and Dewald swam over from James' boat and visited for a while.

After Dewald had swum home we made some chili and chowed down.

Contacted my Daughter to talk stratigies of what our course may be and came up with some good "Plan B's" so that we can tell them to forget it if this foolishness goes on much longer.

All that foolishness seems so far away from this wonderfully quiet anchorage while being gently rocked in my bunk.

May the wind be at your back!
