Family photographs of the royal family of the Romanovs (1915-1916)

Many of these rare photographs of the royal family of the Romanovs were personally taken by the head of the family and the last Russian emperor Nikolai II. Being an enthusiastic photographer, the king with great care and accuracy arranged images on numerous albums. His love of photography was transferred to Mary, the third daughter, who painted most of the pictures.

This is the last of the photographs of the Romanov family. After the revolution in Russia, the tsar was forced to abdicate and was exiled to the exile together with his family. In Yekaterinburg, July 17, 1918, on the orders of the Bolsheviks, Nicholas II and his wife and children were shot.

Anna Vyrubova, the closest friend and confidant of Queen Alexandra Feodorovna, and Olga Romanova. Vyrubova was considered an admirer of Rasputin. During the revolution, she was imprisoned several times, but in 1920 she illegally moved to Finland, where she took monastic vows and lived until the 1960s.
