Popes are experienced mature old people, right?
Yes… lately.
But in the past there were much younger popes.
A good example is the Pope Gregory V, who was 24 at the date of his election in the year 996.
Even better, the Pope John XI was 20 in the beginning of his papacy in 931.
What about Pope John XII?! He was only 18!
An then there’s Pope Benedict IX who was pope three times. He first became pope at an unknown age between 11 (!!!) and 20.
