Libya's north-western coast, at least 158 refugees were rescued. They did not have any valid documents. The information was released from the country's navy on Monday.
According to a statement from the country's navy, the refugees rescued from the north-western Khomas 26 miles away from the sea were rescued. Their carrying boat sank.
Libya's central government collapses in 2011. Since then the country's northwestern coast has turned into an important route to illegal immigrants. Using this route, refugees are passing through Italy and other European countries.
