Masala Puffed Rice

Masala Puffed Rice is an all time favourite evening snack,the famous Indian chaat.We can prepare a lot of dishes with murmure(Puffed rice) like bhel, murmure ladoos, bhel puri, murmure upma etc.

Murmure are very light and low in calories, so its a best snack for weight watchers. It is very easy to digest.In this post I have shown step by step recipe for masala puffed rice .

I always make masala puffed rice and store it in air tight container. Whenever I feel like eating something spicy .I quickly make masala puffed rice..

Ingredients:-

Puffed rice - 4cups
Mustard seeds - 1 teaspoon
Garlic cloves - 4 cloves
Cooking oil - 3 tablespoons
Red chilli powder - 1/2 teaspoon
Salt - 1/8 teaspoon
Turmeric powder - 1/8 teaspoon
Curry leaves - 4 curry leaves
Peanuts - 1/4 cup

Method:-

  1. Heat the oil in a large skillet over medium flame

  2. Slightly crush the garlic cloves

  3. Add the garlic, mustard seeds , chilli powder , salt , turmeric , curry leaves.Cook for about 1 minute, stir frequently to make sure the spices are well mixed.

  4. Add peanuts & cook for 1 minute, stir frequently

  5. Turn the flame to low,& add the puffed rice. images (8).jpeg

Cook for about 1min , stir frequently to coat the puffed rice with oil & spices, immediately off the flame. Now you have a delicious masala puffed rice.

Tip:: Seal it an airtight container for several days.
