When we call someone a narcissist it's usually someone suffering from an inner wound and trying to cover it up by other means
narcissism these days seems to mean anyone who's conceited in themselves from wounds from within
although a nice healthy dose of narcissism in its classical term is very beneficial. I'd probably be in a crazy house with all the things i've been through without a good ole classical sense of narcissism: I feel it helps keep people sane as well
Nothing allows you to traverse this shitty world better than to have your brain tell you how grand you are
and you're on the cusp of greatness
The mind has many ways to keep us going, and I feel this is one defense mechanism
So that people never give up hope and keep going on day after day
if reality kicked in on many people living meager lives many would just fall by the wayside
including myself
