The English dictionary defined a word as the smallest unit of a sentence which can be spoken or written. However, the bible defined the word as God himself ( John 1:1) “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.”. Through him all things were made and this word is Jesus.
The power in the word ultimately relates to the ability to control your overall existence with the utterance of the word wether physical or spiritual.
Word as translated in John1:1 means God and that is why God himself said my word would not return to me without accomplishing that which it has been sent to do. When God said in Genesis that let there be light and there was light this happened because the word of God carries great power and because we are created in the image and likeness of God, he has given us this same power that whatever we say must cone to fulfillment because of the power inherent in the tongue and the words that comes out of it.
A lot of us have spoken idle words that affects our lives and then we blame God for what has happened to us. Let me tell you this, God is not responsible for whatever happens to us we are responsible mostly by what we say and do.
While i was younger i believed there was the existence of an angel of perfection that perfects all that we say or do but really it is not the angel that perfects what we say but it is the power that goes out with the word we pronounce that does the work.
When you constantly make a pronouncement the machinery of life automatically starts working towards that pronouncement.
How does The Spoken Word control everything?
As we hear time and time again, the spiritual governs the physical and word pronounced with power controls the spiritual.
The word of God spoken in faith has awesome power to overcome seemingly insurmountable obstacles. When Jesus told the storm peace be still, the storm obeyed. When you speak the word of God nothing can disobey you even the devil himself can’t disobey.
The irresistible supernatural in God’s word will not allow it return to him empty without fufilling it’s purpose. The word of God has heaven backed power when you speak this word of God you are tapping into limitless power.
The word of God is like fire and like hammer that breaks a rock into pieces. Just picture the word of God as a hammer. This hammer can drive home a nail- positive result and this hammer can breakdown obstacles- overcoming negativities.
Speaking the word of God faithfully will ultimately make all kind of positive things begin to happen to you and all kind of obstacles and opposition will be broken.
Three times Jesus spoke to the devil “IT IS WRITTEN” and the devil’s schemes were defeated because there is great power in this spoken word of God..
The words of God are commands that must be carried out . John 11:43-44. When he had said this, Jesus called in a loud voice, “Lazarus, come out!”(A) 44 The dead man came out, his hands and feet wrapped with strips of linen,(B) and a cloth around his face.(C)
In Genesis” God said let there be “ and there was light, sun,moon, stars:animals,birds,fish and and more came into being from God’s spoken word. Who told you that you don’t have the power? You were created in the image if God so you are a god on your own therefore speak out God’s word to your lazarus because you have overcome by the blood of Jesus shed on the cross of calvary.
The word of God is everlasting and whosoever keeps his words will never see death John 8:51. It not sufficient to just know the word, you have to keep it , meditate on it because it has the power to set you free and break you loose from every bondage. John 8:31-32.
The word of God has the power of inviting the holyspirit to come upon people acts10:44-46. And it has the power to ultimately keep you from sin as build your faith. The bible says faith cometh by hearing and hearing by the word of God.
