T20 World Cup : West Indies vs Australia & England vs South Africa

Two matches were played from the teams of group 1 and actually it was sort of a decisive match for the three teams, Australia, England and South Africa fighting for their second place to qualify for semi finals.

West Indies vs Australia

First match was played between West Indies and Australia. West Indies batting first put 157 runs on the board in 20 overs. Kieron Pollard was the top scorer for West Indies making 44 runs. While Josh Hazlewood from Australia has bowled 4 West Indies batters.

But that score doesn't seem to be enough. Australian batters have shown their class and chased 157 runs just in 16.2 overs strengthening their Net Run Rate on the table.

David Warner made 89 runs following Mitchel Marsh who made 53 runs.

England vs South Africa

It was a decisive game for South Africa because they had to win from England and win a good margin in order to get their Net Run Rate better than Australia to qualify for semi finals.

South Africa started well with their batting and putting 189 runs on the board. Van der Dussen made 94 runs being the top scorer for South Africa. Aiden Markram made 52 runs.

England team batted well but that seemed to be not enough to win the match from South Africa. They were able to make 179 runs on the board with 2 wickets in hand and lose the match by 10 runs.

But unfortunately for South Africa, they won the match but didn't qualify for the semi finals because Australia's net run rate was better than them.
