We had some good games yesterday between New Zealand vs Scotland and India vs Afghanistan. All the teams belongs to group 2.
New Zealand and India are fighting for the second position in the group in order to qualify for Semi Finals of t20 world cup.
Afghanistan being on second position now in the group but they have played four games out of which they have lost two, one to Pakistan and one to India yesterday. Now its the fight between New Zealand and India for the second position.
New Zealand played their match yesterday against Scotland and won the match by 16 runs strengthening their position in the group. Scotland being a new team played well.
New Zealand have played three matches and lost only one match to Pakistan with four points on the table and on third position on the group. Net run rate is lower than Afghanistan therefore they are behind Afghanistan.
India on the other hand had a match with Afghanistan and batting first they had a huge total of 210 on the board for Afghanistan.
Afghanistan struggled and they only were able to make 144 runs and lost to India by 66 runs. This big win by India made their net run rate from negative to positive. But still India have to work hard and win matches with good margin in case if the points were equal of other teams as well.
India and New Zealand have played their three matches. India lost two and New Zealand lost only one match. That makes New Zealand at an easy place against India to be on the second position but New Zealand has to win against Afghanistan and Namibia to qualify for Semi Finals easily. If they lost one among these games then they probably have to go through net run rate and the second position will be decided through net run rate.
