10 Things Successful People Do to Manage their Time - FeedAgreed

"I don't have the time!" Do you find yourself telling this all the time?

Or...

Does your everyday look like this?

Many successful people manage their time efficiently. Time sets them apart when it comes to making the most of every single day like clockwork.

Let’s take a page out of their book and look at the 10 things that successful people do to get more done in 24 hours that you could follow right now!

1) They Follow a Set Routine

Successful people are highly productive because they are very serious about their everyday rituals. Be it waking up at 6 a.m. in the morning or working out at 7 p.m. in the evening, they do it if they’ve planned it for the day without procrastinating. Even if they miss out on certain routines because of emergencies, they follow up the next day without giving up on it.

2) They Prioritize Work

Successful people complete tasks effectively because they recognize their most productive part of the day and allocate important tasks to that part of the day. Tasks that can be handled without giving much work to the brain- like checking your emails- is often left to be done at the least productive part of the day. Prioritizing work helps to get important tasks completed faster.

3) They Make Decisions and Stick to Them

Successful people make plans that are doable by dividing work into smaller goals that are easily achievable. They make decisions that are down-to-earth which are within their ability to complete without setting lofty goals. Setting unreasonable goals can lead to procrastination and eventually make you give up on your planned tasks. Even if everything doesn’t go as planned, they take up the task the next day.

4) They Don’t Waste Time Being Stuck in a Rut

Successful people are unhinged when they hit a brick wall while doing their work; instead, they don’t waste any time taking up the next goal in line. This makes it easier to keep the flow going during your most productive part of the day. Coming back to the unfinished tasks always leads to a better outcome.

5) They Shut All the Distractions Out

Successful people don’t indulge in activities that adversely affect their productivity at the end of the day. Common distractions like small talk and social media are kept under control to a minimum such that main tasks are not compromised. Sorting out important interactions from the unimportant is an important part of getting more accomplished every day.

6) They Learn Every Day

Successful people are always finding ways to acquire new knowledge. They take up activities in their free time instead of loafing around. Every time inspiration strikes, they try to indulge in it by taking it up in their off-work time. They believe that success is not measured by material things, but the desire to make goals and achieve them. When you learn something successfully or even fulfill a short term goal, that’s what makes you a successful person.

7) They Motivate Themselves During Tough Times

Successful people are resilient to failures; even if something doesn’t go as planned, they are quick to recover and move forward to achieve what they set out to do initially. They keep going even if the people around them have no faith in their pursuits. They face challenges with a positive mindset and overcome obstacles with peerless perseverance and determination.

8) They Don’t Multi-task

Successful people are often good at everything they do because they avoid multi-tasking! It may be tempting to multi-task whenever there is a pile of work staring at you, but concentrating on one activity at a given time gets more accomplished than juggling between two or more tasks. According to a research, multi-tasking is scientifically impossible. Single-tasking yields better results and avoids the confusion that comes with switching between tasks.

9) They Assess their Time Spent on Each Task

Successful people keep track of all their activities by recording them in a notepad, phone, or a computer. They seldom have a random approach to accomplish each task, rather they schedule their work strategically and systematically. Assessing their time spent on important tasks and trivial matters is an essential part of their everyday life. Making such assessments keeps you conscious of the passing time and helps you to accomplish goals accordingly.

10) They Take Time to Snooze

Successful people, though hard-working, always take the time to take care of themselves. When it’s time to unwind and relax, they do it without blinking twice. Worrying about work during the wee hours of the night can often lead to a stressful existence. Recharging your body and your mind by giving them a break from work can help you conquer the next day with renewed focus and energy.

Jim Rohn once said, 'Start from wherever you are and with whatever you’ve got.' So, wherever you are or whatever you are doing at present, start your journey towards success today! And here is a quote from Steffi Graf, one of the most celebrated female tennis players of all time, to get you started right now: "You can't measure success if you have never failed. My father has taught me that if you really do want to reach your goals, you can't spend any time worrying about whether you're going to win or lose. Focus only on getting better."
