Happy Hoser Thanksgiving!

Don’t ask me why Canadians celebrate thanksgiving at the beginning of October. Perhaps because it aligns with the harvest and our cooler climate makes for an earlier harvest? Maybe we just wanted to be different than big brother in another way? I could look into it but I am really not that concerned.

Some friends are working today, boldly building and readying to courageously launch their new business amidst a pandemic and second wave tightening lockdown. In less than a month, we will help them launch and the are sure to be https://keepinitcreole.ca for a little taste of Louisiana in the great white north.

Other friends are celebrating croptober this weekend in another Canadian way. It is so refreshing to have witnessed the legalization and decreased stigma associated with a plant that can bring so much joy.

Others are simply enjoying the changing colours, getting outside before the winter sets in, and enjoying the extra day off to visit family.

Because of rising positive Covid tests amidst a return to school and increased test availability, restrictions are increasing again in highly populated areas. Indoor dining, gyms and health clubs, and other businesses of the like are being asked to cripple themselves or even close for 28 days to slow this curve.

For me, this long weekend is fairly close to ones of years past except we are seeing fewer family members. There is still colour to enjoy, good food to be had, and plenty to celebrate.

So, whether you celebrate in November, or not at all, I hope you are safe and happy. Enjoy loved ones, the out doors, and our numerous, if not slightly altered, blessings on this Canadian thanksgiving.

On to some weird Halloween after this!!
