CCC's Street Art Contest # 182 - "Unity" Pedro Podre, Lisboa, Portugal

Good morning, friends!

Welcome to another post in the Street Art community!

Today I'm going to share some fantastic work by Pedro Podre. Born in 1988, this painter lives and works in the city of Porto, having graduated in Visual Arts from the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Porto.

He has always been motivated to convey and show his worldly experiences, how we deal with the difficulties that everyday life presents us with, expectations, dreams, failures and the other lessons we end up drawing from this pile of feelings and doubts.

Often using a cartoonish style, his characters, who are frankly fictional and almost idyllic, interact with their surroundings, almost defying the laws of physics, and often transposing the anxiety that characterizes the 21st century into a two-dimensional, three-dimensional illusion.

The marked ease with which he plays with themes, compositions and ideas is challenging for anyone who comes across his works of art. A tragic comedy that cannot leave anyone indifferent to the questions it raises or the solutions it ultimately presents.

The iconic urban and suburban life, all the uncertainties and fears of a society in constant change and suffering from growing pains.

Impressive collaboration of each hand to create a character

We can postulate that each hand is important in constituting a whole... that the combination of various forces can in fact be a solution

In the center of the character's chest... a house, is it the best and most precious possession these days? Many people can't afford a reasonable rent and are pushed towards solutions that require some originality

The disproportion when you get up close to the work of art

The skin tones of the various hands that make up this painting are in fact one of the points of detail that don't go unnoticed

The hands, the main ones, if we can say or describe it that way, appear as if they are open. Open to accept what is to come

The strength of legs made with arms!
