My entry for Feathered Friends Contest Round 69 - Show Me A Photo, BIRD ART, The egg thief

Dear Community, here is my entry for Feathered Friends - #SMaP Contest Round 69 by @nelinoeva, BIRD ART.

In my city there is a sculpture that actually everyone knows. It stands in a park by a pond and is called "The Egg Thief". It is a popular photo motif and there is probably no child in the city who has not been photographed sitting on the egg thief, including me.

There is a little story about the origin of the sculpture. At the pond lived a pair of swans, which drove all other waterfowl from it. Especially the male swan was very aggressive and was therefore called "Wild Hans" by the people.

One day a sculptor from the city went for a walk by the pond and saw how a no boy stole an egg from the swans' nest. Wild Hans saw this and chased the little boy, biting him several times in the buttocks.

Can you see the pain and fear in the boy's face?

I am sure that the little boy never stole another swan egg. The sculptor wanted to capture this scene for eternity and through donations from the townspeople, the bronze sculpture was finally cast.

Since 1934 it now stands on the spot where the swan bit the boy.
