Although overall vaccination coverage among children in the US remained relatively stable in 2017, a growing percentage of toddlers have received no vaccines at all, according to a new report from the CDC.
According to immunization guidelines, children should get vaccinated against 14 potentially serious diseases before their second birthday — but a number of very young children in the US have not been vaccinated against any of these diseases, according to the report, which looked at children aged 19 to 35 months.
The proportion of children who hadn't been vaccinated at all by age 2 was small compared to the millions of children who were vaccinated, but that proportion is gradually increasing. It rose from 0.9% for children born in 2011 to 1.3% for children born in 2015, according to the report.
Some context: In 2001, only 0.3% of children aged 19 to 35 months were completely unvaccinated.
It's vaccine season so the media is pushing big pharma propaganda on everyone now.
1% of kids not being vaccinated should be no concern to parents why? Because no vaccine is 100% effective at preventing disease. In fact just because you got a vaccine doesn't mean you're immune to that particular virus. A lot of things can go wrong where you're immune system didn't have a big enough response to the vaccine and you still get that virus years later or you simple could be a carrier of that virus and you will never have an immune response from the virus. About 5% to 10% of the population are carriers of a particular virus and don't get sick. That's how the virus stays alive and can spread easier. An example of this is Typhoid Mary she was determined to be a carrier of typhoid fever so she was quarantine for the rest of her life.
When vaccines are not effective
According to the CDC, mumps outbreaks are on the rise despite the fact that 94.6% of children in the U.S. have had two doses of MMR vaccine. To combat the situation, the CDC is considering adding a third dose of MMR to the recommended vaccine schedule.
In 2010, California experienced the largest pertussis epidemic since 1958. According to the CDC, the U.S. has experienced increased pertussis disease despite high levels of vaccine coverage resulting from the six doses (5 DTaP and 1 Tdap) that CDC recommends all children to receive. Researchers studying the pertussis outbreaks determined vaccine effectiveness dropped to less than 9% by four years, and that the quality of immunization waned so rapidly that little protection remained 2-3 years after vaccination.
They are talking about more vaccines wearing off years later now because it's not a natural immune system reaction so you could have a weak reaction to the vaccine and get sick later on in life. So for example you might have to get a chicken pox booster shot every 5 or 10 years and the risks that come with getting the shot or you could of just got the chicken pox naturally when you were a kid and be immune of the rest of your live.
Vaccines seem like a good idea but in reality they aren't perfect and come with risks. Most doctors don't seem to care about the risks and are just doing what big pharma tells them. That's why parents need to do their own homework on vaccines and reach out to other parents that may not vaccinate or delay the shots to figure out what's best for their own children.
One things for sure though and that's the vaccine makers have no incentive to produce high quality vaccines where it's one shot for the rest of your life. They make more money producing shitty ones that require booster shots. That's just my opinion.
