In part 1 we looked downstream in Fremont Canyon. This time, we look upstream towards where the canyon begins after the North Platte River meanders north from the Pathfinder Dam.
This is my favorite view from behind the Ponderosa pine on the cliffs.

The Ponderosa pine.
There's a sad story about this bridge - one that's told to teenagers to this day to remind them to be careful of who they meet and where... The rape and murder/attempted-murder of two girls back in 1973 and the subsequent death of the survivor in 1992. You can read about this tragic story here as the local area continues to reflect on this tragedy.

The tunnel to the power plant... I'm not a hobbit or a dwarf who likes to be underground!
@emberskydragon noticed this beautiful butterfly on some sweetclover. It's a Callophrys gryneus or juniper hairstreak. Gorgeous little thing! It took a number of shots to get something even close to share-worthy because the wind was constantly blowing the stem and the butterfly wasn't holding very still, of course.
Next time, we'll be at Pathfinder Dam.
