Colorful Tuna Salad

Hello always hungry Hivers, are you ready for one more simple and delicious meal? I stayed with the colorful theme like in my previous blog but separated.

This time I had 15 minutes to spare on a meal and usual fast meals like eggs and similar were out of the question because I craved something with a lot more veggies. This salad is so simple to make, yet one of the most delicious full meals I ever tasted.

Ingredients:

  • 3 cups of cooked pasta
  • 1/2 cup of chopped olives
  • 1 onion (I use the purple one for added colors)
  • 1 cup of sweet corn
  • 1 tomato
  • Heavy cream
  • 1 can of tuna
  • Salt and pepper to taste, but not optional

Preparation:

This recipe is from my imagination, but once I perfected it (to my taste) I always make it the same way. So first of all, put a pot on with water and a lot of salt to come to a boil before adding your favorite pasta. The trick is not to spare the salt here, because the pasta will be more delicious this way. I used colorful Tricolore pasta to go with the veggies and compliment the colors.

While the pasta was cooking (be careful not to over-cook it, or it won't have a good texture), I chopped up some veggies listed above and put a separate pot to boil the sweet corn.

It doesn't matter how you chop your veggies or what you add, this is to my preference and it tastes amazing combined.

I'm not sure what is the reason behind the full taste and interesting structure, but I do know I can't get enough. The corns and the pasta should be added cold, and overall this salad is best served cold in summer or winter.

I said that you can add salt and pepper to taste, but it's not optional because it tastes way better. Again, I'm not much of a cook, so I don't know why.

It's the colors that I love the most, and looking at the photos makes me want to make it again. Rainbow on a plate mixed with tuna and some pasta makes a full meal if you ask me. Put some heavy cream to make it even more delicious and mix well. Add the tuna and let's go!

Avoid the dog who loves fish more than most cats I know, try not to step on its paws while cooking and cleaning. Avoid also bumping into your toddler exploring around and stealing pasta (his favorite) and you are all done!

Have an amazing meal, goes great with red vine and a bad movie (review coming soon)!
