Superstring theory is the most promising candidate for a unified quantum theory of the fundamental interactions including gravity. It is recognised that dualities play a central role in our understanding of the dynamics of string theory. The intimate connections between various superstring theories and the nonperturbative features of these theories in diverse dimensions are unravelled by the web of duality relations.
