Sam Taylor-Johnson is a British film director and artist. The director film debut was in 2009 with the movie Nowhere Boy, a movie based on the childhood of the Beatles singer and songwriter John Lennon. Her professional life began as an artist, she started exhibiting fine art photography in the early 1990, gained recognition for her art. After that she started a new project creating multi-screen video works, projects that became the main focus of her work, creating Travesty of Mockery and Pent Up in 1996, with this new art she was nominated for the annual Turner Prize in 1998.
