Usualmente vengo con covers de canciones comerciales con pista de fondo que me da todo el peso, pero para esta semana decidí hacer algo diferente, tocando yo solo, acompañandome a mí mismo en el instrumento, en una sola toma, con la técnica de 4 Baquetas! Una técnica que te permite tener muchos mas recursos, poder tocar 4 notas al mismo tiempo, armonizarte con la mano izquierda mientras tienes las melodías en la mano derecha
Pues es por eso que decidí retomar esta pieza de un libro del maestro Ney Rosauro, estas piezas realmente son originalmente escritas para Marimba, pero decidí hacer un arreglo para vibrafono, donde tuve que adaptar al registro diferentes acordes y frases de la pieza
Además de el arreglo por el registro del instrumento, también hice algunos arreglos de matices y de fraseos personales que siento le dan un color diferente pero interesante!
Lo más complejo de esta técnica de 4 baquetas es cuando tocan hacer acordes que debes girar el brazo casi haciendo contorsionismo hasta lograr llevar algunas de las baquetas a las notas que buscas, llegando a alteraciones e intervalos a veces incomodos, pero todo esta en la tecnica!
Esta tecnica de 4 baquetas que uso se llama Burton, en honor a su creador, Gary Burton, maestro del vibrafono! Hay algunas otras técnicas pero esta es mi favorita sin duda y la que mas se adapta a mi mano!

I usually come with covers of commercial songs with a backing track that gives me all the weight, but for this week I decided to do something different, playing by myself, accompanying myself on the instrument, in a single take, with the 4 Drumstick technique ! A technique that allows you to have many more resources, to be able to play 4 notes at the same time, to harmonize with your left hand while you have the melodies in your right hand.
Well, that is why I decided to take this piece from a book by maestro Ney Rosauro. These pieces were actually originally written for Marimba, but I decided to make an arrangement for vibraphone, where I had to adapt different chords and phrases of the piece to the register.
In addition to the arrangement of the instrument's register, I also made some arrangements of nuances and personal phrasings that I feel give it a different but interesting color!
The most complex thing about this 4-stick technique is when you play chords that you must rotate your arm almost contortionally until you can get some of the sticks to the notes you are looking for, reaching alterations and intervals that are sometimes uncomfortable, but it's all in the technique. !
This 4-stick technique I use is called Burton, in honor of its creator, Gary Burton, master of the vibraphone! There are some other techniques but this is my favorite without a doubt and the one that best suits my hand!
