Thorswap: One Aggregator to Aggregate them All: Summary of the Thorswap 06/10/21 AMA (highlights)

I dropped into the Thorchain AMA earlier today, and I thought some people here might be interested in my key takeaways from the event...

It was a well managed, text only AMA in which some of the lead developers responded to questions dropped in another channel, and although slow paced it was still pretty intense, given the roll-out of information....

My key takeaways, not in the order of the questions!

One Aggregator to Aggregate them All

For me, the main point I think was this: Thorswap is aiming to become the world's first multi chain aggregator.

That's something I hadn't really realised before - I was attracted to Rune initially because of the cross-chain swapping potential, but this is news to me, and it's SEXY!

Well, as sexy as 25 anonymous crypto-geeks coding cross chain interoperability protocols can be.

The core team consist of 25 members...

At least two of them showed up for the AMA....

25 sounds like a good amount to me as an ex-teacher, about a class load of geeks!

Yield farming is coming to ThorChain

But it looks like you'll need some THOR to take part...

50% of rewards go to Liquidity Providers

Really just a reminder....

Capped IDOs cometh!

There are plans for IDOS, but they will be capped to $300 per account...

Personally I quite like this idea of a limited capped IDO per account. Yes, people can split funds over several accounts, but at least its the right ethos!

Competition...?

Response to the hacks

They've upped their game in this respect...

Final thoughts

I have a lot of love for Thorchain and Rune, and it was good to attend an event hosted by some of the main brains behind it.

They seem like an intelligent, talented, committed, motivated bunch of people with a lot of integrity, and their response to the hacks earlier this year bears that out too.

However, I'm also aware that there's a lot faith in the project going forwards to, given the vulnerabilities exploited on Thorswap.

I just hope from this point forward there are no further hacks or other mishaps. If there aren't this project is just going to fly!
