The mystery of Bulgarian embroidery

Wonderful Ladies from all over the world, I want to introduce you to Bulgarian embroidery. There are many symbols in our embroidery, these signs have been understood since ancient times. We want to be accepted according to my identity. It is also natural that the people around us, when they see us, subconsciously perceive our clothing as a message, as our personal code. Who are we, what qualities, aspirations and interests do we have? How much do we value ourselves, are we happy with life? From this point of view, do our clothes matter? In ancient times, our ancestors expressed themselves through costumes. In them our people have focused national values and knowledge, customs and culture, messages and life experience. The traditions related to the preservation of the family and life are embroidered and built in. The Bulgarian woman carries knowledge through the centuries. The knowledge about the power of colors and symbols, about the meaning of embroidered clothes and needlework. The Bulgarian woman has observed nature and has embroidered and weaved everything she sees in her clothes in order to be beautiful and different. And when she started doing something, she called it.

The girls were only allowed to embroider until their wedding. Embroidery was allowed when their daughters were 12 years old and they had to learn it.
The girls started embroidering their chees at the age of 12 and this was the highest art form made at home.

What is the strength of Bulgarian embroidery? As I have already mentioned, Bulgarian embroidery can tell not only the story of the whole family, but it is also a kind of written language for communication between the supposedly illiterate and simple "Bulgarians". Even in the most difficult and difficult years of the history of the Bulgarians, embroidery was the one that preserved the memory of the people. We find protective symbols in Bulgarian embroidery. They are embroidered around the wrists, the neckline, the hem, the skirt and the apron. They embroidered on all the openings, because it was rumored that evil could enter from there. When embroidering Bulgarian embroidery there is a strict scheme for following the sequence of lines, the intersection of lines and knots are very important otherwise the magic will not work.
Every region in Bulgaria has its own embroideries.
