It is said that everyone has a little child in them. After leaving for South America, I cannot disagree with this statement and, what's more, I can add that under the right circumstances this little child in a person can grow, grow, swell and temporarily take complete control of the human mind. This was the case at Sal de Uyuni. At the sight of these 10,000 square kilometers of flat salt flats like no other piece of this planet (the maximum height difference in these 10,000 square kilometers is only 41 centimeters), I felt like a child. I wanted to run straight ahead, I felt so much energy that I had the impression that the strength would allow me to run to the other end of the salt flat, although the other end was not visible. The sudden burst of energy was strange inasmuch as Salar de Uyuni is situated at an altitude of 3653 m above sea level. And after all, at such a height, the lower oxygen concentration in the air is clearly noticeable.
In conclusion, I can only say that all this day I felt like a cow released into the meadow after being locked up for a long time. (Who has not seen such videos on the Internet, be sure to look for them).
