Last week, Cebu City and Cebu Province were put to MECQ, so I don't have a work again and it came up to my mind on making this homemade Mashed Potato. I learned this from my sister-in-law back when she was visiting in our house to see my children. She is a business minded woman. She is the one who teach my children how to make munchkins because those munchkins that they did she will gonna sell it.
And now, this Mashed Potato she is the one who teaches me and my children how to make this one. Now I will share this to you on how to make this Mashed Potato. With this you can have a little bonding with your family.
First you need to buy a 1 kilo of sweet potato, and then wash the sweet potato with clean water so the soil that stick to its skin will be clean. After that put the 1 kilo sweet potato in a stock pot and let it boil until the sweet potato will get soft. How to know if it is already smooth, use a fork and stick it to the sweet potato to know if it is still hard or soft.
If it is already soft, next step to do is peel the sweet potato and then after peeling it, slice it like a cube. Next step to do is mash it using a mortar and pestle or if you don't have you can use a fork or spoon and use it to mash the sweet potato.
These are the the ingredients for cooking the mashed potato. You need the mashed sweet potato, a Margarine, and a condensed milk.
First is put the margarine first in a cooking pan and let it melt. When it is already melted, put the mashed sweet potato next and stir it. You need to keep stirring it so that it will not stick to the pan and will not get overdone.
Next step is put the condensed milk and keep stirring it until it is already totally mixed.
This is the finished product Homemade Mashed Potato.
Slice it and after slicing it you can put some condensed milk on the top of it. Ready to serve.
This is my partner, my son who helped me on making this mashed sweet potato. He loves this very much when he was still a kid, until now he's already adulescent he still love this food.
