Missing In Colorado: The disappearance of James Brian Rowe, 2004.

On July 30th, 2004 James Rowe told friends before he left Crestone Colorado, that he was headed to a hot spring but he has never returned

On August 3rd his Jeep was found, this was also the same day he would be reported missing. Inside of the Jeep there was some hiking and camping gear along with the keys. The vehicle was located 20 miles north of Crestone, on a road off Colorado 17.

He reportedly made a bank transaction on August 2, the day before the Jeep was discovered. On August 3rd, the day of the discovery of the Jeep, he was also possibly spotted in the Alamosa, Colorado WalMart. Authorities seem to think or believe at this time he may have been trying to walk back to Crestone.

James Brian Rowe was the co-owner of the Earth-star Co-op which was a natural food store and restaurant located in Crestone. Just shortly before he vanished he attended a seminar hosted by Landmark Education in Denver, Colorado.

Now this part here sent me down a mini rabbit hole because The Charley Project thought it worth noting that this Landmark Education are known for brainwashing and other "cult like activities". So in just a simple Google search I find that to be the case. In fact there's more information on how strange they are than in any form of self advertising. It is kind of a strange organization. I'll leave it to you, dear reader, to dig up anything further about them on your own. Feel free to share that here. But I digress, right after the seminar James Rowe reportedly began acting strange.

At one point after the seminar he asked a friend to drop him off at the trailhead but he returned home to Crestone half an hour later barefoot and disoriented.

It is said he suddenly changed his appearance, removing his ear disk's, piercings, cutting hair and shaving facial hair. Friends say he seemed "scattered" and "ungrounded", and even delusional. His mother and sister state that after talking to him not long after the seminar he seemed completely disconnected and was talking about "creating his own reality". Prior to his disappearance he spoke with his mom who resides in Vermont, regularly and he had never left without warning before. Since July 30th of 2004 she hasn't heard from him but says he is extremely missed and loved. His sister does fear he may have possibly hurt himself.

In the fall and winter months of 2004 there were possible sightings in Alamosa, Salida, and Poncha Springs Colorado. Even a report in November 2005 of a possible sighting in Thomasville, Georgia.

A land and air search was conducted around Saguache County, with tracker dogs (presumably when and where the Jeep was found). Flyers were handed out all over the San Luis Valley, and Chaffee County, with no success.
