"Kelly please, you need to hear me out. Don't bang the phone please. Just listen, it's not what you think."

Amanda begged as she called Kelly on the phone to explain what really transpired between her and Jeffrey on Monday night.

"Be quick, my patience is running out. Just say what you have to say and don't tell me any more lies."
Kelly barked from the other end of the phone. He had been avoiding her call since three days ago when drove past the university gates at night, catching a view of Amanda and Jeffrey, cuddling in an inordinate manner, through the flashlight of his car headlights.

Jeffrey used to be the closest friend of Kelly. They had just gained admission to the university to study law. As registration process for the first year students were in going, Jeffery needed a copy of the acceptance for which he had already received from the admission officer but somehow misplaced it.

He would not be given another one, so he accosted Kelly who was behind him on the queue to help with his own copy so that he could make a duplicate at the photocopying ventures around the law faculty.

Kelly was humane enough to release his copy and afterwards, the two lads became friends, always together.

When lectures began, assignments became the deal of the day as every lecturer bombarded the freshmen with assignments of different degrees to welcome them to the university and to the law faculty. Hence, you'd find law students everywhere sorting out their assignments to meet the submission deadline.

Two months into their admission, the university lecturers went on lecture boycott and after seventy-two consecutive hours of the process, a strike action began. It was usual with the university lecturers to demand for increment of salaries using the strike action.

All students were asked to leave the school premises immediately and never to return until the strike action has been called off. This was unpalatable with most of the freshmen who were just beginning to enjoy university life.

It was in the cause of this that Kelly met Amanda at the university gate, struggling with her luggage towards the park where she ought to board a taxi home. He couldn't bear the sight, so he helped the poor lady carry the luggage to the stand.

At the point of stretching a hand of help, he discovered how beautiful Amanda was crafted. She has the sexiest legs you can ever think of and soft spoken to add splendour to her already beautiful body. But she is a shy lady. She couldn't look Kelly in the eyes twice.

Since Kelly was heading to the city Park too, he joined Amanda in the cab with their luggage are the trunk while they took the back seat and caught up on each other.

Hi! I am Kelly, a freshman at the faculty of law. Resident at the Wande Abimbola hall.

She breathed heavily to warm her lungs for the supposed reply to the introduction. And for the first time, she looked up to see how young, handsome and innocent he was.

wow. How come we haven't meant. I am Amanda, in my second year at the law faculty too. But I stay in the lecturers quarters. My uncle lectures at the faculty of arts here.

It was a beautiful scene as the two exchanged pleasantries and contacts. When they reached the parking lot, Kelly said to the taxi driver and offloaded their luggage. Now, it dawned on him to ask which way he was heading.

Ikoyi-Lagos. That's where I live, so I would be joining that bus.

As Amanda gave her description, Kelly looked on with mouth wide open. His parents also live at the east end of Ikoyi.

Me too. I stay at Glover Road Ikoyi. So, that means we are taking the same bus.

It hopes to be a beautiful five hours trip from Ile-Ife to Lagos for Kelly. At least, he will have enough time to speak with beautiful Amanda.

As soon as the journey started, Kelly began to keep the chat with Amanda going. He wanted to know her closely. Amanda too could read the lines. She thought that Kelly would make a good boyfriend. He is considerate and has a very good heart.

She thought that if Kelly could try to woo her, she would accept immediately.

Sooner than later, Amanda dozed off. She rested her head on Kelly's shoulder. Because of the gallop on the way, her head rolled away from his shoulder but Kelly held her back. He was enjoying the cruise. Her sleep lasted only an hour, then she woke up, seeing Kelly's eyes over her.

Oh! I slept off.

You slept like a baby, Amanda.
She smiled and bowed her head with her long hair covering her face. At this point, Kelly was considering telling her that he loved her but didn't know how to present his case. While Amanda was expecting Kelly to shoot.
Then he summoned courage and told her how beautiful she is and that he would love to have her as his girlfriend.
First, she couldn't reply. She just smiled away and looked at Kelly, then nodded her head in affirmation of his proposal.
He attempted a hug but Amanda resisted looking at other passengers. Kelly understood that code immediately.
When their bus arrived Lagos, they took another cab to Ikoyi.

Throughout the strike period, Amanda and Kelly were seeing each other. The strike lasted for four months and students were recalled back to school.

The two lovebirds went to school the same day. Kelly drove his car, a gift from his father when he turned twenty-three years old. When they arrived at school, Kelly drove her to the staff quarters so she could drop her luggage and follow Kelly to his hostel to help him fix the interior decor.

Two days after their arrival to the university campus, Kelly drove to town to fill his car tank with fuel around 7:45pm. When he was returning, he caught that scene, where his love, Amanda was cuddling with Jeffery, his intimate friend.

As Amanda was trying to explain to Kelly that Jeffery only helped her up when she fell into a ditch while trying to cross the lawn at the mall opposite the school gate, Kelly woke up from his sleep.

It has been a dream all along.
