What Is GHAWG?

#GHAWG is short for "God's Hog: A Watchful Guardian." This fictional story tells how David Guardia, a courier and business owner from Bayonne, New Jersey, US moved into the next phase of his life after spending the final ten years of his ailing father's life helping him.

More details can be found in the first post of this weekly recap.

Rhonda & I continued the private portion of our honeymoon, and we gave each other much to dream about before we called it a night. In the morning, Rhonda held me close to her. "I had a strange dream," she said.

"What was it?"
🏍️ In The GHAWG Universe, David Guardia is known for his role as a prophet of The Lord. As Rhonda Bella Guardia's role developed, I decided that she would complement David by being a Dreamer. It was a dream which led her to David when he was at the bar in Davenport, Iowa, US; this would be the second time we see her have a dream which will affect David, only this dream won't be realized for many years.

3️⃣4️⃣2️⃣ 2024-January-28 00:07:51

"In the dream, I kept seeing your logo."

"Logo?" I asked Rhonda.

"Actually, the only detail which matters: The Templar's Cross. At first it was for mundane purposes. Then nothing was happening. Then countless Templar's Crosses were flying all over. So many of them, David, I got dizzy."
🏍️ Rhonda's first dream centered on someone she would know as The Templar, and for her it turned out to be David. The mundane purposes of the Templar Cross foreshadows something which will happen in late March 2024 or in April 2024. The meaning of countless flying Templar's Crosses won't become obvious to David until well into the final sequel zapfic serial The Bronze.

3️⃣4️⃣3️⃣ 2024-January-29 18:07:27

"Why would you be dreaming about Templar's Crosses?" I asked Rhonda.

"I know, right? Then again, it is how we met."

"Dreams are funny that way. But I know this: I'm your husband and you're my wife; I love you with my life."
🏍️ Both Rhonda and David are puzzled by this dream. Both decided to put this dream on the backburner so they could focus on more immediate concerns: themselves and each other. David professes his undying love for her, and at some point along Old Route 66 he will be rewarded for his devotion to her.

Rhonda & I finished the rest of our stay at the motel slowly showing ourselves how much we loved each other. By the time we rejoined The Kids & The Twins, it was like our week in San Diego; however, it felt a bit more subdued.
🏍️ Both David and Rhonda Bella Guardia were going to make their overnight hotel stays a continuation of their honeymoon in San Diego. That was the plan until David had {his meeting} with both the uncanny Manny Rey and The Lord Going forward for the remainder of David's Epic Ride, they will find themselves toning things down.

3️⃣4️⃣5️⃣ 2024-January-31 13:23:30

We had breakfast at Mitla's Cafe by the corner of W6th Street & North Mount Vernon Avenue. From there we rode north until we reached W. Highland Ave; that's when the name changed to Historic Route 66 (CA210 & Cajon Boulevard).
🏍️ Our Heroes resume their ride east through California along the path used by Old Route 66. At this point, there are riding on city streets.

3️⃣4️⃣6️⃣ 2024-February-01 00:41:27

Before reaching Cajon we switched from Historic Route 66 to I-15. Stretches of I-15 alternated names between Barstow Freeway & Mojave Fwy. Near Mariposa Road we switched to State 395 & then to Palmdale Road toward Victorville.
🏍️ At this point, Our Heroes find themselves back on roads. Despite the various roads taken and the name changes encountered along the way, it's the path defined by Old Route 66.

3️⃣4️⃣7️⃣ 2024-February-02 00:57:24

We made a pit stop at Victorville to visit the California Route 66 Museum on D Street between 6th St & 5th St. After we did the tourist thing, Rhonda & I went to St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church by the corner of 6th & A Streets.
🏍️ Thanks to songs such as "(Get Your Kicks on) Route 66" and television series during the early decades of the medium, Route 66 had become not just an iconic road but also a cultural touchstone. This was one reason for the outcry at the disappearance of this road during the years the Eisenhower Interstate Highway system was under construction. One result was the proliferation of tourist attractions such as museums and businesses formed specifically to capitalize on the iconic status of Route 66. Victorville, California, US was just one of many places along Old Route 66 which caried on the legacy of the legendary road.

Zapfic Entries 348-354

While Our Heroes make a pit stop at Victorville, California, US, David and Rhonda Bella Guardia take time to visit St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church in order to give thanks and to make their intentions heard via prayer. After spending the night at Barstow-- the one made famous by the song-- the ride until they reach Ludlow, California, US.

At LeoThreads

Out Heores spend the night at Needles, California, US, just a short distance from the California-Arizona state lines. Due to the condition that they ride along what should be Old Route 66, a half-mile trip into Arizona ends up taking 18 miles.
