What Is GHAWG?
#GHAWG is short for "God's Hog: A Watchful Guardian." This fictional story tells how David Guardia, a courier and business owner from Bayonne, New Jersey, US moved into the next phase of his life after spending the final ten years of his ailing father's life helping him.

| 🏍️ On the one hand, The Newlyweds (David and Rhonda Bella Guardia) need to set the example for The Kids (Sanjay Rampersad, Lionel Odunsi, and Lindsay Etxeberria) and The Twins (Hank & Frank, the Brothers Marchenko) regarding propriety and discretion. On the other hand, they need to keep things real and maintain a good sense of humor about things. 🏍️ This zapfic entry is the first one after the dual-story phase of GHAWG ended. It begins a recap of the efforts made to return back east. |

| 🏍️ For the first time since before reaching STURGIS, Our Heroes (before Lindsay Etxeberria joined them in Portland) won't be with The Mongols. They will need to rely on each other to navigate the highway system, locate key spots, and protect each other. Even if they never encounter mayhem in the form of criminals or unhinged people, there is always The Unexpected. |

| "As we rode along the West Coast," said Rhonda, "David & I were discussing this." "Most of us are from Iowa," I said. "You guys need to return to UNC." Sanjay & Lionel nodded. "So we ride to UNC before we swing back to Iowa." |

| 🏍️ One possible path back east is the direct path, with everyone ending where they need to be. This would make Our Heroes a smaller and smaller group. By the time they reach University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, "Our Heroes" would consist only of the foreign exchange students, Sanjay Rampersad from India and Lionel Odunsi from Nigeria. Although it is very likely that these students return safely to UNC, they would have been cheated out of numerous unimagineable experiences. So Our Heroes reach UNC as one unit. At Iowa they will go their separate ways. Hank & Frank Marchenko live near each other in Cedar Rapids (maybe they live together; I didn't considered this detail for them). David will live with Rhonda in Davenport, now that they are married in the eyes of God. Given Lindsay's earlier status in Iowa, she may be couch surfing for a while. |

🏍️ This zapfic entry is a continuation of the previous entry. It reinforces the idea that they are all part of a team and support each other no matter what happens during their journey. For the reasons stated everyone is OK with this circuitous ride home. Lindsay has her own reasons for liking this plan for their ride back home: She gets to spend more time with Sanjay, to whom she has taken a liking. I have a scenario in mind where they cannot be more than friends once they part, but they reunite later anyway during Blue Lion. |

| 🏍️ David Guardia is reminding himself of his mid-life crisis, the reason he began what turned out to be not simply his ride to STURGIS but his Epic Ride. Now that he and Rhonda are husband and wife, it only makes sense for him to live with her as he begins the next phase of his life. As for Lindsay Etxeberria, she could stay with Sanjay in Chapel Hill or thereabouts, or she could return to Iowa; if she returns to Iowa, does she return to the home of her family, or does she find her own lodging? These issues will be sorted out as they get closer to the end of the journey. |

| 🏍️ Lindsay Etxeberria knows enough to start her new life in her home state of Iowa. She also knows that she needs to have a support system in place to guide her as she reintegrates herself with regular society. For this, she can count on The Twins and (to some extent) The Newlyweds. As for income, both she and David Guardia need to get new day jobs plus side hustles to plan for their respective futures. |

| 🏍️ One of the benefits of taking a motorcycle ride as long as theirs has been is that everyone gets to know each other better. Part of the knowledge gained is what everyone else does to earn their daily bread, or their vocations. Since they'll all be within a short riding distance of each other, there is the bonus of offering mutual aid and support to each other. At this point, Lindsay Etxeberria and David Guardia can count on jobs from Hank and Frank Marchenko. |

Zapfic Entries 313-319
Rhonda Bella Guardia and Lindsay Etxeberria discuss the Victory motorcycle Rhonda had given her as a gift so that she can ride with everyone else. Given Lindsay's interest in Sanjay Rampersad, she opts to ride with Sanjay. Lindsay lets Rhonda borrow her Victory until they reach UNC, at which time Linday begins to ride it herself.
Another part of the discussion concerns the begining of the ride back east. Since it was decided to ride along the path defined by Old Route 66, it was necessary to return north to the Santa Monica Pier in Los Angeles, California, US in order to catch the beginning of Old Route 66.
(As with the previous Weekly Summary, these zapfic entries would be the equivalent of part one scene in a long form post or a movie.)

Unlike David Guardia's 10-day coma at the hospital in Le Claire, Iowa, US , his time unconscious was only 30 seconds but it felt much longer. David tells his wife Rhonda about his "meeting" with the uncanny Manny Rey and The Lord. Later, Rhonda tells her husband David about the dream she had.
(Although not obvious to either of them, this dream has repercussions reaching far into the future, far enough to go through both sequel zapfic serials Blue Lion and The Bronze.)
