What Is GHAWG?
#GHAWG is short for "God's Hog: A Watchful Guardian." This fictional story tells how David Guardia, a courier and business owner from Bayonne, New Jersey, US moved into the next phase of his life after spending the final ten years of his ailing father's life helping him.

Rhonda Bella had fewer options for her maid of honor, but she and Lindsay had become good friends during Linday's portion of David's Epic Ride. |

| When things quieted down, we spent the rest of the day at Harvest Christian Fellowship. Next day, we resume our ride to San Diego where we would part ways with Harry and The Mongols. Rhonda gifted Lindsay her Victory motorcycle. |

| 🏍️ The two California cities of Riverside and San Diego were just about 90 miles apart by car, so this phase of David Guardia's Epic Ride was almost done. While it's customary for the bride and groom to receive wedding gifts, it was Rhonda Bella who gave to Lindsay Etxeberria her Victory motorcycle as a gift. Lindsay was the only rider without a motorcycle, and Rhonda wanted to be closer to David. |

So imagine the scene when a bunch of motorcycle riders-- among them, members of The Mongols-- take over Ruth's Chris Steakhouse for an impromptu wedding reception. |

Story Arc So Far
At Harvest Christian Fellowship in Riverside, California, US, Lindsay Etxeberria makes her fateful decision on whether to begin the next phase of her life there or elsewhere. Then Harry Hoqualogue decides it's time to take the plunge into Pacific Ocean waters for the purpose of "getting born again" as a Christian. Then David Guardia proposes marriage to Rhonda Bella after just a few weeks as riding companions on his Epic Ride, and she happily accepts his proposal.
After this series of unexpected events, Our Heroes finally arrive in San Diego, California, US, home base for Harry and his chapter of The Mongols. This is where Our Heroes go from the combined group to just the people David had picked up en route from Davenport, Iowa, US to STURGIS (and later Portland, Oregon, US).
Next Week (2024-January-23)

After parting ways with Harry and The Mongols, David and Rhonda spend their first days together as newlyweds while The Kids (Lindsay, Sanjay Rampersad, and Lionel Odunsi) and the Brothers Marchenko (Hank & Frank) are left to their own devices and make plans for the ride back east to their various homes.
(These two stories take place in parallel, so each day there will be multiple zapfic entries. Because of the nature of these two stories, there will be 2 zapfic entries for each of the 10 days rather than for 7.)

Our Heroes ride east along the path mapped as closely as possible to Old Route 66. They spend the night in San Bernardino, California, US. This is the last place mentioned in the iconic song "(Get Your Kicks on) Route 66"; it's also the first place from that song they visit as they ride east to Chapel Hill, North Carolina, US before they swing back to Iowa to close the Epic Ride.
