Just a week after setting its old record of $ 44.80, the value of the Ethereum Classic (ETC) has more than tripled. At 7pm on Thursday (06), the currency set a high of $ 157.30. Although the price has dropped to $ 142.18, the Ethereum Classic has made its way into the top 20 cryptocurrencies by market capitalization. At the beginning of the year, the ETC was worth between $ 5 and $ 6. Since then, the currency has grown steadily in value, but most of its explosive price movement took place last week. Today, the currency has a market value of US $ 17.88 billion. It added $ 5 billion of that in just the past 24 hours.
