LeoGlossary: Retail Investor

A non-professional who buys and sells securities. These can be stocks, bonds, mutual funds, and commodities. It also applies to alternate investments such as cryptocurrency.

Retail investors trade through brokerage firms and do so in smaller amounts compared to institutional investors.

These are often individuals small buying groups like investing clubs.
