LESSONS FROM OUR WORSHIP SERVICE, HELD ON 10/9/21

For us to obey the law, we need understanding.
PSALMS 119:34

Give me understanding, and I shall keep thy law; yea, I shall observe it with my whole heart.

The church is compared to our body, having many parts, but all of one body.

COLOSSIANS 1:18

And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence.

THE ROMANS 12:4

For as we have many members in one body, and all members have not the same office:
So we, being many, are one body in Christ, and every one members one of another.

We shouldn't reject our brethren. When we see our brother sin a sin not unto death, we should rather pray for him for God to change him.

JEREMIAH 10:23

O LORD, I know that the way of man is not in himself: it is not in man that walketh to direct his steps.

PROVERBS 16:9

A man's heart deviseth his way: but the LORD directeth his steps.

God wants all men to be saved.
I TIMOTHY 2:4

Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.

We shouldn't reject our brethren.
We should do good. Cloth the naked, feed the poor so that we won't be on the left hand and be cast into hell as recorded in Matthew 25:34-45

Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:
For I was hungry, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in:
Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me.

Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee hungry, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink?
When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee?
Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee?
And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.
Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels:
For I was hungry, and ye gave me no meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me no drink:
I was a stranger, and ye took me not in: naked, and ye clothed me not: sick, and in prison, and ye visited me not.
Then shall they also answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee hungry, or athirst, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not minister unto thee?
Then shall he answer them, saying, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye did it not to one of the least of these, ye did it not to me.

Apostle Paul did everything possible to relate well with everyone in order to see them saved as recorded in 1 Corinthians 9:20-22

And unto the Jews I became as a Jew, that I might gain the Jews; to them that are under the law, as under the law, that I might gain them that are under the law;
To them that are without law, as without law, ( being not without law to God, but under the law to Christ, ) that I might gain them that are without law.
To the weak became I as weak, that I might gain the weak: I am made all things to all men, that I might by all means save some.

So we should always receive one another and do good.
We should be patient with one another, forbearing and forgiving one another.

COLOSSIANS 3:13

Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye.

The brethren of our lord Jesus Christ are those who do the will of God. So when we do good to those who do that will of God, we are doing good to our lord Jesus Christ.
MATTHEW 12:50

For whosoever shall do the will of my Father which is in heaven, the same is my brother, and sister, and mother.

GALATIANS 6:10

As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith.

Thanks be to God!
