Hola Hivers, ¿como están?, como ya lo he mencionado en publicaciones anteriores el terror y el suspenso son mis géneros favoritos, sin embargo, considero que no es fácil conseguir una buena película de terror, y en cuanto al suspenso, a mi parecer hay una cantidad mayor de buenas producciones en comparación con el terror. Bien, hoy quiero hablarles de Half Light (En las Tinieblas), una película que me ha gustado mucho y que se puede catalogar como de Terror/Suspenso o Thriller, aun no entiendo muy bien la diferencia entre estos dos últimos términos.
Half Light fue producida en el año 2006 en Reino Unido, escrita y dirigida por Craig Rosenberg y protagonizada por la sexy y popular actriz estadounidense Demi Moore. Esta película fue valorada con un 6 por IMDb, y con una puntuación más baja por otros portales de crítica cinematográfica, la verdad no sabría decir si es que yo soy muy poco exigente o que la critica es muy dura, pero yo a esta película la valoraría con un 8.9.
Ahora, para hablar de su trama, lo he pesado bastante, porque considerando la idea de que algunos de mis lectores decidan verla, es necesario mantener ciertas cosas sin revelar, de manera que puedan sorprenderse y disfruten del suspenso a lo largo de la película. Por lo tanto, diré que Rachel, nuestra protagonista, es una escritora que empieza a cobrar relevancia en el mundo literario, y una editorial le publica su primer libro, acontecimiento que hace sentir opacado a su esposo con quien no parece tener la mejor relación y están en proceso de divorcio.

Un día Rachel pierde a su hijo trágicamente, cuando este sale de casa sin permiso y cae en un acueducto cercano y se ahoga, su madre sin percatarse que el niño había salido decide buscarlo para encontrarse con el lamentable suceso. Por esta razón, para superar el dolor y encontrar tranquilidad para escribir su próxima novela, decide irse a una casa completamente aislada en un pequeño islote de Escocia, que su mejor amiga, una escritora de un diario le recomienda para que se vaya durante un par de meses y encuentre la tranquilidad que necesita para escribir, y así lo hace.
Una vez en la casa del islote, Rachel empieza a tener visiones y pesadillas con su hijo muerto, una medium del pueblo más cercano le dice que su hijo siempre la acompaña. Rachel, pronto conoce a un joven llamado Angus, que según parece vive en un faro ubicado en la costa, al otro lado del islote, se conocen y crean una bonita amistad, incluso surge un romance entre ellos. Sin embargo, Rachel queda impactada cuando planifica una cita con Angus para asistir a una fiesta del pueblo más cercano y al no encontrarlo allí y preguntar por él, los habitantes del pueblo le hacen saber que Angus murió hace 7 años.

Rachel no lo puede creer y empieza a indagar y a investigar sobre este hombre en los registros de los diarios en la biblioteca, con el propósito de encontrar una fotografía de él para saber si se trata del mismo hombre. Cuando Rachel cree estar enloqueciendo, llama a su mejor amiga, quien le dice que la espere en el islote para acompañarla durante sus momentos de crisis.
Rachel muy confundida acude a la medium del pueblo, quien le dice que efectivamente el espíritu de Angus deambula siempre por esos parajes, y que su hijo intenta advertirle de un peligro inminente, y que debe marcharse cuanto antes. Rachel regresa al islote para recoger su equipaje y marcharse, pero se encuentra con una gran sorpresa. Algo que jamás habría imaginado, y debe enfrentar para salir con vida de allí.

Y bien, creo que he contado lo suficiente para explicar la trama sin revelar puntos clave. Finalmente, considero que está película deja un importante mensaje, que nos sugiere tener cuidado de con quienes nos rodeamos y a quienes consideramos nuestros amigos.

Now, to talk about its plot, I have weighted it quite a bit, because considering the idea that some of my readers may decide to watch it, it is necessary to keep certain things undisclosed, so that they may be surprised and enjoy the suspense throughout the movie. Therefore, I will say that Rachel, our protagonist, is a writer who begins to gain relevance in the literary world, and a publishing house publishes her first book, an event that makes her husband feel overshadowed with whom she does not seem to have the best relationship and they are in the process of divorce.

One day Rachel tragically loses her son, when he leaves home without permission and falls into a nearby aqueduct and drowns, his mother without realizing that the child had left the house decides to look for him to find the unfortunate event. For this reason, to overcome the pain and find peace of mind to write her next novel, she decides to go to a completely isolated house on a small islet in Scotland, which her best friend, a writer of a newspaper recommends her to go for a couple of months and find the tranquility she needs to write, and so she does.
Once in the house on the islet, Rachel begins to have visions and nightmares of her dead son, a medium from the nearest town tells her that her son is always with her. Rachel soon meets a young man named Angus, who apparently lives in a lighthouse located on the coast, on the other side of the islet, they meet and create a beautiful friendship, they even have a romance. However, Rachel is shocked when she plans a date with Angus to attend a party in the nearest town and upon not finding him there and asking for him, the townspeople let her know that Angus died 7 years ago.

Rachel can't believe it and starts digging and searching about this man in the diary records in the library, with the purpose of finding a photograph of him to find out if it is the same man. When Rachel thinks she is going crazy, she calls her best friend, who tells her to wait for her on the island to accompany her during her moments of crisis.
Rachel, very confused, goes to the town's medium, who tells her that Angus' spirit is indeed always wandering around these places, and that her son is trying to warn her of imminent danger, and that she should leave as soon as possible. Rachel returns to the island to pick up her luggage and leave, but she finds a big surprise, something she would never have imagined, and must face to get out of there alive.

And well, I think I've told enough to explain the plot without giving away key points. Finally, I consider that this movie leaves an important message, which suggests us to be careful of who we surround ourselves with and who we consider our friends.
