Para el año 2018 pasaba por un mal rato. Luego de más de cuarenta años como profesor tomé la decisión de no ir más a la Universidad. Al principio pensé que todo iba a estar bien, tendría mucho tiempo libre y eso era algo que siempre había querido. No pensé que me iba a pegar tanto mi nueva condición de jubilado.
Los días pasaban y mi ánimo no mejoraba, extrañaba las viejas rutinas, la emoción de encontrarme con los alumnos, el buscar estrategias para hacerlos pensar, el reto de responder a sus interrogantes. Añoraba profundamente el mundo de las aulas de clases. Sentía un gran vacío dentro de mí.
En una ocasión hablando con mi sobrina, le comenté que estaba preocupado porque cada vez me sentía más apático y desanimado; ella me respondió que me tenía la solución ideal. Hacía pocos días se había enterado de la existencia de un sitio donde tendría la oportunidad de mantenerme ocupado, además de la gran posibilidad de recibir ingresos por mi actividad. Al averiguar un poco más no lo dudé dos veces y decidí comenzar en Steemit.
Desde el principio la actividad en la Blockchain me entusiasmó. El hecho de que fuera un mundo nuevo para mí me dio más incentivos para aprender. Afortunadamente para ese momento la comunidad hispana había crecido mucho y era muy fácil conseguir amigos para aclarar las dudas y aprender juntos.
Paso a paso fui haciendo de la Blockchain mi casa, la mayor parte del día permanecía conectado. La emoción de interactuar con los demás era muy estimulante. Lo que quería hacer era publicar, comentar y estar en contacto con mis nuevos amigos virtuales.
A los pocos meses mi malestar se desvaneció, las nuevas actividades me sirvieron como un bálsamo que me devolvió el entusiasmo.
Cuando se presentó el momento de la división yo decidí integrarme a HIVE, fue un momento difícil porque muchos amigos quedaron en la otra cadena, pero fue la decisión correcta, porque siempre me ha parecido importante estar del lado de la libertad.
En HIVE mi experiencia ha sido mucho más gratificante, los hivers somos una comunidad muy integrada. Acá se ha facilitado la interacción con personas de diferentes partes del mundo, algo que valoro mucho porque disfruto conociendo otras costumbres y modos de vida.
No me canso de decir que descubrir a HIVE es una de las mejores cosas que me ha pasado, acá he logrado desarrollar talentos que tenía dormidos y a los que nunca les había prestado atención. Además, HIVE es un sitio de gente muy amable, solidaria, para mí es una gran familia, y en la actualidad he podido compartir en el mundo analógico con personas muy valiosas que he conocido gracias a HIVE.

By 2018 I was going through a hard time. After more than forty years as a professor I had decided not to go to university anymore. At first I thought everything was going to be fine, I would have a lot of free time and that was something I had always wanted. I didn't think that my new status as a retiree would hit me so hard.
The days went by and my mood did not improve, I missed the old routines, the excitement of meeting the students, looking for strategies to make them think, the challenge of answering their questions. I deeply missed the world of the classroom. I felt a great emptiness inside me.
On one occasion, talking to my niece, I told her that I was worried because I felt more and more apathetic and discouraged; she replied that she had the ideal solution for me. A few days ago she had found out about the existence of a place where I would have the opportunity to keep myself busy, besides the great possibility of receiving income for my activity. When I found out a little more, I didn't hesitate twice and decided to start Steemit.
From the very beginning the activity on the Blockchain excited me. The fact that it was a new world for me gave me more incentive to learn. Fortunately by that time the Hispanic community had grown a lot and it was very easy to get friends to clarify doubts and learn together.
Step by step I made Blockchain my home, most of the day I stayed connected. The excitement of interacting with others was very stimulating. What I wanted to do was to post, comment and stay in touch with my new virtual friends.
Within a few months my discomfort faded, the new activities served as a balm that restored my enthusiasm.
When the moment of division came, I decided to join HIVE. It was a difficult moment because many friends remained in the other chain, but it was the right decision, because it has always seemed important to me to be on the side of freedom.
In HIVE my experience has been much more gratifying, we hivers are a very integrated community. Here it has facilitated interaction with people from different parts of the world, something that I value very much because I enjoy getting to know other customs and ways of life.
I never tire of saying that discovering HIVE is one of the best things that has happened to me, here I have been able to develop talents that were dormant and that I had never paid attention to. In addition, HIVE is a site of very kind and supportive people, for me it is a big family, and at present I have been able to share in the analog world with very valuable people that I have met thanks to HIVE.
