Just wanted to share about this little quaint place I found in Oslob, Cebu during our freediving escapade in Oslob this week. My freediving buddies were as usual @ybanezkim26 and @sabanalchristian.
We stayed in a little nipa hut in Stay N Save B&B. Located just along the main highway, I found it a very strategic place where the whale shark watching was just a kilometer away. We arrived around late in the afternoon from our 3-hour trip from Moalboal. Imagine, we went round south of Cebu all for the love of freediving.
After filling up some papers, we were then asked to have our things disinfected for 30 minutes with the use of some UV light. While waiting, I and @ybanezkim26 decided to take a stroll within its premises. We walked past some small rooms and treehouses. All made from wood, bamboo, and rattan which makes you appreciate more about Filipino culture.
With abundant greenery in its landscape, it was refreshing. It's like having a staycation in a tropical resort. Moving further down the path, we were greeted with this amazing view on its cliffside.
Thinking that we had much time, we descended a path down the cliff. We got more than just a stroll! We didn't know we were in for a short hike or trek along the cliffside. However, it was worth it. We found a very romantic viewing deck in the middle of our descent. After a few minutes, we found ourselves in a breathtaking sea view below its cliff.
The sun was setting down fast so we headed back up. It probably was a 10-minute hike non-stop. I was sweating a lot and couldn't wait to have a shower by then. We got our things, settled in our nipa hut and while waiting for @sabanalchristian to arrive, we ordered some food. I and @ybanezkim26 had a hearty meal for dinner but just know that the food price here is above average.
The next day, we were all set up for our freediving activity with the whale sharks. We woke up early and walked our way to the whale shark watching site. To our dismay, the place was closed every Wednesday. Yes, my heart sank. We had to rethink our plan while having our breakfast at a nearby store. We decided to extend our stay in Stay N Save B&B for another day.
The weather was perfect, the water was clear and calm so it would be a missed opportunity if we wouldn't go swimming that day. So we ended up having our freediving activity at Stay N Save B&B. And down the cliff we went.
Although there were not much corals underwater, we enjoyed freediving and taking some photos and videos. This time I was also amazed that I could already go deeper to 10m with ease. Anyways, I'll end this post with some of freediving photos! Enjoy and see you around.
