Cryptocurrencies and resistance to change - Criptomonedas y la resistencia al cambio

In many aspects of personal, professional or work life there is fear or difficulty in accepting changes in the routine or habit of certain situations. In my profession, I have come across this type of problem on several occasions, which can be so serious that it even manages to make well-structured and elaborate projects fail. I can attest to that.

Paradigm

With cryptocurrencies and the paradigm that they have put on the table, something similar happens. The change is enormous and governments and financial regulators, accustomed to centralizing money and therefore power, observe with horror that with this they can lose control of wealth and therefore oppose it. It is simply a war between two different conceptions and before seeing the good, they reject it without further contemplation.

Own flight

For some years, cryptocurrencies were observed as a curiosity, as something without relevance and soon to disappear, but the conflict began to be seriously considered when cryptocurrencies began to take importance, "own flight" would say a business advisor friend who assured me that the main characteristic for which they were being rapidly adopted was not their price and their upward cycles but the decentralization that facilitated their use at low cost.

There he began an offensive against them, with very acid criticisms known to all, but, nevertheless, against all odds, bitcoin, Ethereum, and many other digital currencies continued with their improvement projects and achieved a huge market capitalization. important.

Today the resistance is higher than ever: fear of change, yes, but also fear of losing centrality and therefore control of the world financial system.

It's difficult for the pig to fly

Two of the world's largest economies, the United States and China, are adopting different measures, the first trying to impose regulatory and tax regulations that allow integration with traditional schemes. "It's difficult for the pig to fly" my grandmother would say, it is like wanting to fit a square in a circle, but let's not underestimate, the regulators are too imaginative and they will come up with something. On the other hand, China, always attentive to absolute control, has banned foreign cryptocurrencies and has concentrated on creating the digital yuan, its own central bank currency (CBDC), the idea is to channel everything there.

Resistance or adaptation

So I return to the initial definition, the change is so disruptive that it is impossible for the stale and ancient world economic order not to try to dominate it. At first, he ignored him, then he tried to destroy him, and seeing that the dead man is in good health, then he will try to adopt him, send him to school and choose a university career for him.
