Without further ado, let's dive straight into the tutorial. It promises to be very detailed and simplified.😉
The materials used in making this dress are as follows;
Lace
Satin
Crinoline
Tulle(net)
Thread
Taperule and
Scissors.
I ended up not using the hardnet in the picture as the gown was full enough for me after making it.
Measurements needed are;
Chest 22"
Waist 22"
gown length 23"
Half length (shoulder to waist) 8"
Back 7.5"
Armhole. 7.5"
To start with, i drafted a simple bodice pattern, for front and back as seen the picture below
I also cut out the tulle in three different lenth (5",3.5" and2.5")
Each placed as there steps then gathered, to be used as pair for the both sleeves, then I joined all my upper bodice pattern together
front
back
Next I make the down part of the dress, to make this, i cut out the the remaining length of the full gown after deducting the half length using the satin fabric, i also used double of her waist measurements to cut out the width, then I cut tulle of different length, i used 4 yards of tulle for this dress, (15.5",13",11",and 8")
After cutting, i turned each of the tulle with a crinoline at the hem, then gathered all step by step, placing the longest beneath,i also attached the tulle to the gathered satin.
After making both the upper bodice and the down tulle, i joined them together and attached a zipper at the back.
So this is the final look
