Accumulating liquidity is also healthy / Acumular liquidez también es algo sano

English

In an uptrend it is said that the one who accumulates liquidity is stupid, while when we are in a downtrend it is said that the one who does not have liquidity is stupid, and this is said because the way to earn in an uptrend is due to have an investment according to the trend, while in a downtrend we lose money if we are not out of that asset.

This on paper is easy to understand, but the problem is when we are in practice and we see that it is not so easy to know when we should be very invested and when we should be out of that asset, there are many other variables to take into consideration and a very big certainty that we all must accept, which is that we do not know what will happen in the future, and trends are not maintained infinitely, but at some point there will be a change of trend.

Because of what I have just said, it is a bad decision to enter 100% of an asset, as well as to exit a position at 100%, as long as this asset is good and not a piece of junk made for speculation only, so a better decision is to decrease positions or increase positions in a reasonable way and always considering that there may be a trend change abruptly for some reason.

There is also a better way, and that we can do when we have liquidity in a frequent and constant way through time, as the case of having productive investments (business or any other investment with dividends), since in this case we can decide if we increase our position or if we simply accumulate liquidity since we are currently very exposed.

This is the option I chose, as I am having information at both extremes, since on the one hand I am seeing that economic measures are being taken that will make the stock markets (along with cryptos) fall in a few months, but I am also seeing that another bullish rally is starting, so taking an extreme position can be a bad decision at some point, either to stop earning profits, as well as to eat a whole stock market fall.

Accumulating liquidity is a middle ground, in which we can take advantage of a fall if it happens, while we can benefit from a rise if it happens, but this we can do if we accumulate liquidity in a reasonable way, since 100% in liquidity is not reasonable, and 50% is not reasonable either, but I consider that 20% to 30% of our capital in liquidity may be better, but this is considering my capital, so this amount may change depending on the reality of each investor, and this is why it is necessary that each investor makes his decisions according to what he knows about himself.
