Find Things You Love, Keep Doing Them to Bring Happiness

I am sure most of you have heard of "finding your passion" lectures that most of the millenials are giving each other. And then they are missing the point. Point is not just finding happiness while you do things in your life. You have too many variables attach to it. Because like any other habit even passion falls off your heart eventually.

So how does one find things they love and do it to bring happiness?

A large part of the passion arguments come from the book Ikigai, where it is about being busy with the things you like. But that does not happen in real life. You can't have what you like unless you suffer for the same.

Doing What You Like

Its something we all want to do. Like for example, I like analysing people but I don't get paid for it because if I get paid for it I may go deep and that may offend many people. And they will say this woman is being nosy and digging too much into psychology lol. I need to understand those boundaries. So the thing is something you have to do things you like but you have to know your boundary and not to forget can you do this till you die or can you do this till you no longer do it mentally and physically?

Doing What Society Needs

Sometimes you have things that you want to do but the people around you want to do things that take the bigger preference. And the society then changes the direction on where you should be contributing. So you have to also learn to adjust with that part. Sometimes you have better life experience when you do things that society wants you to do. And that could also opens up new doors for you. You have to be understanding of that part.

Doing What Pays Your Bills

Sometimes it's not about what you like. Sometimes you don't have to do what society wants. Sometimes you have to put up some bills on the table. And that seems to be the way for you to build up the bills. And that means you have to understand where you build up your skills and learn to find happiness in that skills so that you can wake up for everyday work and focus on putting food on the table.

Doing What You Are Good At

You may love what you do but may not be good at that. You may keep doing what society tells you. And you may want to pay some bills. But there are things you are good at and you may want to do long term. Like say you want to cook which is good for your entire family. And to do that you have to find that thing and do it. For example I am good with making some recipes and I continue to do that in order to find the happiness.

All these things bring happiness in your mind and in turn the thoughts bring some depth. This sort of the flow is what you need in your life. Sometimes not trying to be intentional and then being intentional where it is needed requires some level of experience and that brings happiness.

Conclusion

In order to find your flow, you have to keep doing things you love and you are good at. That way you are going to be staying young even if you age. And that process in itself is going to bring you happiness. It's all about flow.

Have you found your ikigai? Do you do things that bring you happiness?
