Back To The Zoo - Part 5

I still have a bunch of animal photos from the visit to the zoo early last month. The zoo is quite big and there are plenty of species hat visitors can enjoy during the time of their visit. Please check out my previous posts about the zoo here, here, here and here.

There are a few lions, three or four, which are always lazy. Truth to be told, I usually visit the zoo during the summer and the temperature is ranging between 30C and 35C, which is too hot for these furry animals.

These were sleeping or at least trying to sleep. I had to use my phone's zoom function to be able to catch them as they were too far.

This zoo is not only for displaying different animal species, but it's also an education center with a few items on display, from old times. This is an old wooden chariot with two big wooden barrel. You can still see chariots like this at the countryside, it's just that the ones running now on country roads have tires, instead of wooden wheels.

Monkeys were not interested in visitors either, they were playing with each other, ignoring us totally.

There were these educational boards all over the zoo, like this for example. On the top there was the photo of the animal, the top could be lifted and under there was the description with all you had to know about the animals.

The texts were always multilingual, Romanian, Hungarian and English as the visitors are also from so many countries.

Bunnies are always popular, no matter where you see them. This zoo has quite a few, some of which were out at the time of our visit, there rest was hiding in the shade, inside.

There was a camel resting, also not interested in entertaining visitors.

Horses were busy enjoying the green grass, or something better they were given by the care takers.

Meet Thomas, the train. Unfortunately it is very old, in a very bad shape and obviously not working. Thomas must have seen better days. I don't know how old it can be, but I'm sure years ago all the kids wanted a ride. The tracks run around the park outside the zoo.

There were these old stones next to the train, I could not leave without taking a photo. I love stones and these were quite interesting.

It is important to know mushrooms even if you're not interested in harvesting any. Kids also have to know what they are playing with. A mushroom could be interesting and not teaching your kids about the danger they may face by touching them can have consequences.

These cuties were the most amazing among the smaller animals.

These are the Patagonian maras, a very strange but cute species.

These two were something you don't see every day. I had to see if I'm right, so I went to the other side of the cage and this is what I saw.

It was like they were twins, or better yet, if you'd have seen one in the mirror. I bet if you would have wanted to arrange them, you would have not succeeded. I've never seen such a setup in life, especially with animals and all this was not staged.

Last, but not least, here's something for @livinguktaiwan. She has a thing for toilets, so when i saw this toilet block, I said I'm going to try it out and take some photos for her. There's no luxury here with marble floor of crazy expensive sinks and Venetian mirrors.

IMG_20210806_144357a.jpg

It was tiny but pretty clean and fir the purpose. Next time I'm going to pay attention and take photos of toilets it are worthy, although I've seen posters saying selfies in the toilet are not allowed. Not that I have the habit of taking selfies.

I hope you enjoyed the ride :)
