WILDEBURG - the Best MUSIC and ART Festival in the Netherlands - a Photographic Story

Finally I found some time to get the photographs sorted I took last weekend at maybe the best music festival we have in the Netherlands. Last year I managed to join the small crowd at their first edition for just the last day. I loved it so much, I convinced some of my friends to go all the way this year; three full days and nights! And what a good decision it was!

Wildeburg is one of the few festivals combining quality music (none commercial), art and good food with a great alternative and hippie-like location and ambiance. Nothing is 'normal' and everything is unique! I was pleased the majority of the people were open minded, music lovers with a great appreciation for underground music. I know of only a few of these type of festivals in Europe: Fusion in Germany, Garbicz in Poland, Boom in Portugal and Burning Man in the USA and South Africa. Sure, there are more festivals with great people, great food, great decorations and great atmosphere, but generally the music is less to my tasting. Also the crowd may be less diverse. Wildeburg has it all!

We were not planning to stay awake 3 days and night, and camping is not really our thing as well. But Glamping is something that is very acceptable. So we brought out Hanomag / Mercedes bus and installed ourselves with all the accessories needed to chill and relax.

preparing for our first round, gin tonics!

and finally
we reached the main stage
windmill (how Dutch can it be) with fairytale allure

some dragons flying above one of the dance floors

cosy couch with roof to protect us from the rain
apparently it made us invisible!

...and a little closer...

dragons raying light

time for some food...

with the tummies full, exploring the entertainment section...

...with some chilling before the storm...

and then the timetable
important with more than 50 shows and the start of our dance adventure

after the main, the second stage...

...and the third...

...and the forth with the best lineup of the weekend...

and the 6th: an even more secret stage, a mini club

a special place to hang out

one morning we entered this tower for some chilling at the indoor stairs
and enjoyed some great views from the top window holes

the light-shows were just amazing!
