Hay movimientos de la cultura que marcan un rompimiento con lo preestablecido dando origen a nuevas formas de captar la realidad. El surrealismo es uno de ellos, un movimiento artístico que surge para expresar una realidad no visible pero existente, esta en quien la vivencia, en sus pensamientos más profundos, enterrados en el subconsciente, en su parte no racional que puede manifestarse a través de los sueños o desde una mirada que dice: “las cosas, las realidades son algo más de lo percibes”.
Uno de sus mayores representantes fue Salvador Dalí y una de sus obras más significativas ha sido “La persistencia de la memoria”. Donde, según lo interpreto, memoria y tiempo son uno. Sin embargo, sentada frente a la obra no puedo dejar de pensar que cada reloj representa un momento en ese tiempo infinito:
Un futuro que cuelga en una frágil rama simbolizando la incertidumbre.
Uno que reposa en el letargo... un pasado inmodificable.
Más cercano, un reloj que se escurre en ese presente continuo y
Un cuarto reloj, concreto, bien definido en su forma y al mismo tiempo lleno de opciones ¡El ahora!
Vaya cada uno a saber que quiso plasmar Dalí y que siente cada quien ante la obra.
Por su apertura hacia ese mundo inmensurable del pensamiento, la obra de Dalí siempre me ha resultado misteriosa y atractiva. En el año 2008 tuve la oportunidad de visitar su museo en Figueres, España. En una exposición que llena de asombro es inevitable preguntarse ¿Quién es el hombre detrás de la obra? Y es un hombre que busca romper con lo establecido, lo convencional que aun cuando no es el padre del surrealismo se puede afirmar que era surrealista por naturaleza.
Una obra que ayuda a comprender este movimiento artístico en sus dimensiones es la conocida “Retrato de Mae West que puede utilizarse como apartamento surrealista” un “pequeño cuadro” por sus dimensiones física (31 x 17cm.) que, posteriormente, cuando Dalí estaba montando su museo, buscó la ayudad del arquitecto Óscar Tusquests, para reproducirla como la habitación de un apartamento real.
En el museo subes unas escaletas y desde lo alto es como si se corriese una ventana que deja ver el rostro y literalmente sientes que puedes entrar en él.
Algo extraño sentirte dentro de la cabeza de alguien, sensaciones diferentes van llegando, tan diversas e irreales que el concepto que lo engloba no es otro sino Surrealismo.
