Insight for the day: Check and monitor the project development carefully to avoid Ponzi!

I came across this wonderful video interview conducted by @samostically : 5 Hive Questions With Samostically Season 2, Ep.1: Guest - Taskmaster4450

Boy, plenty of gems and pearls of wisdom on this.

I will just single out one part where the talk centered around play-to-earn game.

What to watch for when choosing a game to invest your time and money?

Basically, watch out for "Ponzi" games that do little, with no development.

The Ponzi part is kind of intriguing for me. We want to avoid games that benefit the early adopters who amassed a great number of tokens and have the later adopters pay for their exit liquidity.

Games could become ponzi-like if the game developer does not keep developing the game to make the game worthwhile. If there is a good and sustained development, a greater number of players in the future would sustain the game naturally.

Now, this story with the games also applies to Hive as an investment. So long as Hive keeps developing, more people will come on board and Hive will have longevity and avoid the ponzi manifestation.

Anyway, plenty of gems in that video. These are the questions asked:

  1. HOW DID YOU COME ABOUT CRYPTO AND HIVE?
  2. WHAT DOES A WITNESS ON HIVE MEAN?
  3. HOW IMPORTANT IS BLOCKCHAIN GAMING ON HIVE?
  4. WHAT DOES THE REPUTATION SCORE ON HIVE MEAN?
  5. HOW DO YOU CONVINCE ANYONE TO JOIN HIVE?

Go and watch it to enjoy the gems.

I am also sharing 50% of the rewards from this post with @samostically.

P/S: This is not financial advice, and please do your own due diligence before investing.
