Ya saben que ando en esto de decorar mi casa con tejido a crochet, buscando siempre realizar proyectos bonitos, útiles y prácticos. En esta oportunidad le tocó el turno a los bancos o banquetas plásticas. Es verdad que son muy viejas estas sillas, cuando las compré fue para usar en el patio de la casa cuando tuviéramos reuniones familiares o entre amigos; con el pasar del tiempo empezamos a usarlas para poner latas de pintura, tobos de basura, lo cual las deterioró mucho. Algunas incluso se tostaron por el desuso y se rompieron. Ahora quiero recuperar un poco las tres que tengo en uso y para ellas estoy haciendo estos bellos FORROS TEJIDOS.

You already know that I've been decorating my house with crochet knitting, always looking to make beautiful, useful and practical projects. This time it was the turn of the plastic benches or stools. It is true that these chairs are very old, when I bought them it was to use them in the patio of the house when we had family or friends gatherings; as time went by we started to use them to put paint cans, garbage cans, which deteriorated them a lot. Some of them even got toasted due to disuse and broke. Now I want to recover a little the three I have in use and for them I am making these beautiful WOVEN COVERS.
Estoy muy animada tejiendo cositas para mi casa, hace tiempo que no me dedicaba y ya tengo terminado algunos de los proyectos que planifiqué hacer durante el año. Todos aquí compartidos para que se animen o inspiren a realizarlos. Ya saben, para que nadie diga "en casa de herrero, cuchillo de palo".

FORRO TEJIDO PARA LAS BANQUETAS.
WOVEN LINING FOR BENCHES.
Para realizar este forro me decidí por realizar un granny. A pesar de que los bancos tienen forma un poco rectangular más que cuadrada elegí hacer un cuadro de la abuela para ellos.
MATERIALES:
- Hilos de algodón llamado pabilo.
- Aguja de crochet de 2,25mm.
- Tijeras.
- Aguja lanera.
- Bancos o banquetas de plástico para tomar la medida.
- Conta métrica.
To make this lining I decided to make a granny. Even though the benches are a bit rectangular in shape rather than square I chose to make a granny square for them.
MATERIALS:
- Cotton threads called pabilo.
- Crochet needle of 2.25mm.
- Scissors.
- Wool needle.
- Plastic benches or stools to take the measure.
- Measuring tape.
Lo bueno de trabajar proyectos partiendo de un Granny es que la mayoría de ellos se pueden extender al tamaño que queramos. Es por ello que te invito a elegir entre miles de diseños que puedes encontrar en la web. Busca de los Granny que se pueden hacer crecer indefinidamente. Algunos son pastillas (cuadros pequeños) que generalmente se tejen para unirse con otros y lograr un tamaño más grande, pero hay muchísimos que podemos hacer gigantes tan solo repitiendo la última vuelta del tejido. Es el caso de este Granny que elegí.
The good thing about working on projects starting from a Granny is that most of them can be extended to the size we want. That's why I invite you to choose from thousands of designs that you can find on the web. Look for Granny's that can be made to grow indefinitely. Some are lozenges (small squares) that are usually knitted to join with others to achieve a larger size, but there are many that we can make giants just by repeating the last round of knitting. This is the case of this Granny I chose.
⏹️ Este Granny se empieza tejiendo 16 puntos altos dentro de un anillo mágico.
⏹️ En la segunda vuelta se tejen 16 puntos puff, tres puntos altos cerrados juntos.
⏹️ En la tercera vuelta se tejen 16 puntos puff separados por 2 cadenas cada uno.
Eres libre de elegir varios colores en tu Granny o tejerlo unicolor.
⏹️ En la cuarta vuelta vamos a tejer desde dentro de un espacio de las 2 cadenas de separación: levantamos 3 cadenas y allí mismo se tejen 2 puntos altos. Hacemos 1 cadena y pasamos a la siguiente cadena de separación y se tejen 3 puntos altos nuevamente. Después se teje 1 cadena y en el siguiente espacio de separación se tejen dos grupos de 3 puntos altos separados por 3 cadenas. Así se forma la primera esquina de cuadrado.
⏹️ Luego se va a repetir todo el proceso anterior hasta llegar a la última esquina. Después de tejer esa esquina hacemos el último grupo de 3 puntos, 1 cadena y cerramos la vuelta con 1 punto deslizado.
⏹️ A partir de la vuelta cinco lo que haremos es repetir: en las esquinas tejemos dos grupos de tres puntos altos separados por tres cadenas y en el resto tejemos tres grupos de puntos altos separados por una cadena, hasta alcanzar el tamaño de la parte plana del forro.
⏹️ This Granny starts by knitting 16 double crochet stitches inside a magic ring.
⏹️ In the second row, knit 16 puff stitches, three double crochets closed together.
⏹️ In the third row you knit 16 puff stitches separated by 2 chains each.
You are free to choose several colors in your Granny or knit it unicolor.
⏹️ In the fourth row we are going to knit from inside a space of the 2 separating chains: we pick up 3 chains and knit 2 double crochet stitches right there. We knit 1 chain and move to the next separating chain and knit 3 double crochet stitches again. Then we knit 1 chain and in the next separating space we knit two groups of 3 high stitches separated by 3 chains. This forms the first corner of the square.
⏹️ Then repeat all the previous process until you reach the last corner. After knitting that corner we knit the last group of 3 stitches, 1 chain and close the row with 1 slip stitch.
⏹️ From row five onwards we will repeat: in the corners we knit two groups of three double crochet stitches separated by three chains and in the rest we knit three groups of double crochet stitches separated by one chain, until we reach the size of the flat part of the lining.
⏹️ Una vez que alcanzamos la medida de la parte plana del forro, que sería el Granny en sí, empezamos a reducir puntos para que no crezca más. Entonces tejemos los mismos grupos de tres puntos altos en las esquinas sin cadenas de separación. De esta manera se irá estrechando para dar forma de forro al tejido.
⏹️ Entre los grupos de tres puntos altos separados por una cadena también eliminamos esa cadena y tejemos los grupos seguidos.
Así ya va agarrando la forma de forro y cubriendo la parte plana de la banqueta más los bordes.
⏹️ Once we reach the size of the flat part of the lining, which would be the Granny itself, we start reducing stitches so that it does not grow any more. Then we knit the same groups of three high stitches in the corners without separating chains. This way it will taper to give a lining shape to the fabric.
⏹️ Between the groups of three high stitches separated by a chain we also eliminate that chain and knit the groups in a row.
This way it will take the shape of the lining and cover the flat part of the bench plus the edges.
Así se ve terminado y estrenado el forro. Si deseas hacerlo más largo solo debes tejer y tejer hasta lograr el largo deseado. Espero que te haya gustado este diseño.
