Election 2020 - Expect the unexpected and be prepared

This is not going to be a proper article - even though it should be. I am sorry, I just don't have the time to write one.

But the time being of the essence, I decided that it was my duty to write a short piece on the subject. Let me tell you why.

This election is shaping to be the most contentious in the recent US history. The last few months have been marked by mass protests and violent riots across many cities and towns in this country.

The Election Day and the days that follow may prove to be even more volatile. Extremists whose philosophy is described by slogans such as, "Every city every town burn the precinct to the ground" are openly stating that they are in no mood to stand down and may indeed take the violence a notch of two should the election not go the way they would want it to - specifically, should the Biden/Harris ticket not win. Which is unlikely as many models predict a decisive victory by President Trump.

High level Democrat operatives including Hillary Clinton, an ex-Presidential candidate are of the opinion that Biden should not concede no matter what. This may make the situation volatile and even violent. President Trump also does not seem to be in a mood to concede if he believes the other side has prevailed by fraud. And massive election fraud appears to be under way as well.

So once again: in a mere two days the situation may be very different from now. My sources indicate that the most likely areas of unrest would be major cities, especially Democrat-controlled ones - but there is a potential for violence elsewhere as well. Several large illegal arms shipments from China have recently been intercepted, and likely many more went unhindered. According to some sources, these weapons may be destined for extremist groups in the vein of Antifa to enable them to run campaigns of intimidation and create chaos.

Now while this is not the time to panic - as it is never the time to panic - it is a good idea to be prepared. If you are able to, get out of major urban areas. If you can, make sure you have the food, water and other supplies to be able to stay clear of crowds for some days to come. No, I am not in possession of any concrete intelligence, but I do believe instability, potentially on a massive scale is a distinct possibility, and hence I advise preparedness. In this situation, as they say, it is better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it.

I truly hope I am completely wrong about all of the above. But please consider the possibility that I may be right.
